Sony had the PS5 upside down... in their own ad

Sony had the PS5 upside down... in their own ad

This story about marketing blunders, boiled down, in 1:30 minutes.

What's the fuss?

A recent ad on Twitter for Sony's PS5 had a noticeable blunder, reinforcing the strangeness of the PS5's design. Time will tell if Sony will take this err in stride.

The situation

The now-deleted ad starts sweet enough, with a father tucking his child into bed.

  • After his son requests a bedtime story, the father reflects on his current playthrough of God of War, where a father and son go on an otherworldly adventure.
  • When the father begins to tell the story, the boy falls asleep, the ad concluding with the father sneaking back downstairs to resume playing God of War.

Despite the ad's innocent tone, eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that PS5 the father is play on is upside-down.

Boiling it down

The sad thing is that this isn't the first time Sony has made this mistake.

This oversight really isn't the end of the world, but Sony's lack of comment makes it seem like they're taking this mistake to heart.
