What's the fuss?

One of the biggest video game streamers in the world has shared more details about his current game that's being developed, including perks for early adopters.

The situation

Guy "Dr. Disrespect" Beahm is not only a fantastic video game player and entertainer, but has deep roots within game development having worked on 2014's Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

• The streamer made waves last December thanks to the creation of his new game studio, Midnight Society.
• The studio preaches embracing a "Day Zero Community" whereby fans can get involved through all stages of game development instead of just with the final product.

The Doc himself announced further details about the game and how fans can start getting involved.

• The game will be a free-to-play, PvP, alternative reality shooter where players (aka Claws) seemingly will be represented in-game as PFP NFTs.
• People can sign up for a chance to earn a limited-quantity Founders Pass to get involved earliest, as well as get a free commemorative NFT. 

Boiling it down

The grand majority of video games are built in a vacuum, only being created and tested by internal teams before being released to the public as a finished product.

• Apart from previews such as beta tests, the public can really only hope the game is good upon release - something that unfortunately has not been the case lately.
• Midnight Society flips this process on its head by getting the public's help in refining the product as it's being developed.

Although reception to the news was mostly positive, there was trepidation regarding the game's use of NFTs.

• NFTs are frowned upon within the widespread gaming community, mostly seen as cash grabs from game publishers.
• The Doc assured his fans that NFTs will not give players an advantage, however the prospect of reselling NFTs may fill the game's community with speculators.
