Sequels are commonplace in gaming, but you simply can't turn a blind eye when a potential sequel to one of the best games of all time from the last 2 decades might become a reality.
The Fallout franchise is synonymous with the role-playing video game itself, masterfully putting players in a post-apocalyptic America where they must survive and make meaningful choices that has lasting consequences.
Microsoft, who jointly owns the Fallout property and the developers of Fallout: New Vegas, are reportedly in "early talks" to get a sequel to the best Fallout game off the ground.
A reason why Fallout: New Vegas is so good is because it was made by Obsidian Entertainment, which employed some of the developers who made 1997's Fallout 1 and 1998's Fallout 2.
Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda Studios in 2021 and Obsidian Entertainment in 2018 have allowed this opportunity to present itself.
